Hair salon owner's team cares about customers

Bella Hair Studio is looking to give customers a fresh haircut in an atmosphere sure to please even the pickiest of clients.

The studio, which is celebrating its one-year anniversary, offers the latest in color and cuts for senior citizens, teenagers and children.

"Everyone that comes here is important and we don't want anyone to leave unhappy," said Robert Oliver, the studio's owner. "They will get compassion and friendship."

Creating an inviting experience is why Oliver spent a lot of time assembling a team of four employees who have more than 60 years of combined experience.

"We have a great team who care about the customers," said Oliver, adding that he hand-selected the employees, some of whom he had worked with in the past. "We are all very close and we even help each other out and talk to all the customers."

Oliver decided to open the salon off U.S. 41 after the salon he worked at closed. It was always his goal to own a salon one day.

"It's a dream I finally achieved after 10 years here," said Oliver, who moved to Florida after leaving a sales consultation job with Redken. "I want to make people feel good and when they leave, they like to see something different."

Seeing that difference is why Jessica McClintick has been a stylist for 43 years.

"I've owned my own salon before but I knew that Robert was the kind of person who did good work and was dependable," said McClintick, who has been with the salon since its inception. "He always keeps the atmosphere nice, professional, friendly and clean, which is very important."

The personal service is what McClintick focuses on when she works with clients. Some of them come in from other cities every six weeks just to see her.

"Everyone in our business does the same cuts and styles ... our service is all-around great," McClintick said. "People know that stylists have seen it all and know that we don't judge ... our job is to listen and people feel comfortable with that."
